  3. An overview of the current regulatory landscape

Our first session of the day will provide an overview of the drivers and existing patchwork of chemicals restrictions in Latin America.  Unlike the U.S., most Latin American chemicals are regulated by a wide range of legal instruments and agencies, making for difficult compliance terrain.  While there are efforts to streamline and harmonize chemicals laws, that transition will take time and even then, many countries will continue to adopt their own unique local requirements.  We will take a look at recent developments in key jurisdictions, including Mexico and Brazil.
