Jan Maarten Teuben joined Penman Consulting as Head of Product Stewardship and Strategic Initiatives after 25 years in regulatory leadership roles in industry. Before joining Penman, he served as Product Stewardship Manager at Shell, where he led global teams supporting the company’s global Chemicals, Fuels, Refining, and Trading businesses.
His career spans Chemicals, Refining, Catalysts, Trading, Upstream, Gas, and R&D. With a strategic and science‑driven mindset, Jan combines deep technical understanding with practical, real‑world application—translating complex scientific and regulatory issues into clear insights for both expert and non‑expert audiences.
Jan and his team help customers navigate the complex network of regulations efficiently and responsibly, and his mission is to contribute to the safe use of chemicals by facilitating science‑based dialogue between industry, policymakers, and regulators. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from Leiden University and an Executive MBA from ESSEC Business School in Paris.
