  1. Key Regulations in China for Food Contact Materials (FCMs) & Food Contact Articles (FCAs) and Practical, Real-Life Examples & Case Studies of Achieving Compliance

    his training course will introduce you to the main regulations for FCMs in China, from the regulatory framework and management of regulations to practical implementation. We will delve into the new regulations for adhesives (GB 4806.15-2024) and similar auxiliary materials, such as coatings and inks, exploring how to ensure compliance. Additionally, the course will provide you with detailed guidance on how to write and review Declarations of Compliance (DoC) that meet the requirements of the Chinese market, as well as the compliance challenges of multi-layer materials. The course aims to help you, as enterprises and professionals, systematically understand and deal with the complexities of China's FCM regulations to ensure that your products can enter the market in compliance.

    By attending this training course, you will learn:

    • Understanding of the Regulatory Framework of China's FCM, including:
      • how to master general regulations, product-specific regulations, additive regulations, testing method regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP); and
      • under the positive list management, understand the differentiated regulatory requirements for materials, such as plastics, metals, rubbers, coatings and adhesives, as well as the compliance points throughout the entire supply chain, from raw materials to final products and then to the market.
    • Interpretation of the 2024 New Regulations for Adhesives (GB 4806.15-2024), including:
      • the gaps filled by the new adhesive regulations and an in-depth understanding of the specific requirements for the newly added list of restricted substances and the stricter migration limits.
    • Practical exercises for Declarations of Compliance (DoC), such as, how to:
      • clarify the legal status and requirements of DoC, including the 10 items that must be included according to GB 4806.1-2016;
      • avoid common mistakes, such as omitting supply chain information and not covering all contact materials; and
      • master the writing and maintenance of DoC, including template analysis, dynamic update mechanisms, and supply chain coordination.
    • Challenges and solutions for compliance of multi-layer materials, to:
      • identify the risk points of multi-layer/composite materials, learn strategies for designing testing schemes, including the choice between overall testing and layer-by-layer testing, and how to determine the most stringent conditions for simulation; and
      • understand the special requirements for DoC of composite materials to ensure the compliance of all contact layers.
