Yuki Sakuratani is the director of Chemical Risk Analysis Division, Chemicals Management Center, National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE), where he is engaged in the work on the risk assessment under Chemical Substances Control Raw in Japan. He also serves as the director for International Affairs of Chemical Management Center involving in coordinating international activities. His expertise is the development and utilization of alternative methods to animal testing such as QSAR,  read-across, IATA and WoE in chemical management regulations, and he has over 20 years of work experience in this field. From 2014 to 2017, he was seconded to the OECD and was involved in running OECD projects related to alternative methods to animal testing. He received his Ph.D. degree in Engineering from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 2002.
