Richard Wallis
Richard has been working within the chemical industries of Australia and New Zealand, across various market segments, for greater than 20 years. During this period, he has acted in technical and regulatory roles for both government and private sector.
Originally from New Zealand, he started his career at Callaghan Innovation;
a New Zealand government scientific research and development agency, Richard then joined the New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority as a Technical Advisor in the Hazardous Substance team.
Since 2007 he has been in Sydney Australia and worked in regulatory compliance functions for two global chemical and technology companies: Allnex and Ecolab. As a result, Richard gained an extensive understanding of the regulations that apply to chemical products throughout their various market applications.
In 2023 Richard established Arcadian Chemical Consulting to assist all stakeholders in the industry navigate and comply with the various regulatory pathways and requirements that apply to chemical products throughout their lifecycle.
Richard holds an MSc (Distinction) in Pharmacology from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and is currently a consulting member of both the Australasian Institute of Dangerous Goods Consultants and the Association of Therapeutic Goods Consultants.
