PFAS Updates Europe 2025

Malene Teller Blume has been with Coop since 2001 and has played a key role in developing the company’s chemical policy and product requirements. She has been responsible for both non-food and near-food products and has led Coop’s strategy to phase out unwanted chemicals – including endocrine-disrupting substances (EDCs) and PFAS, which have been a focus since 2000 and 2014, respectively.

She currently works at Coop Trading, where she serves as Quality Assurance lead for food and near-food private label products across the Nordic region. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition and has also led projects in environmental and sustainability initiatives.

Malene is an active voice in the public debate on chemicals in consumer products and has represented Coop in both national, international forums and a group under the EU Commission on safe chemical product development.
