Johannes has a background biology and physical chemistry. He holds a PhD for his work in antifreeze protein research and development.

The interest in understanding fundamental interactions at the molecular level led to a teaching position with focus on pharmaceutical- and mechanistic toxicology. Having transitioned from basic research to a more applied branch of science, the next logical step was regulatory work which relies heavily on scientific work.

Today he works with human health risk assessment of biocidal products and biocidal active substances at the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.

Johannes has worked with biocides since 2021 and is actively involved in the ongoing development of IT tools and technical solutions for workflows under the BPR.
