Biocides Europe 2025

Raffaella Perrone is Director of Office 8 "Biocides and Cosmetics" within the Directorate General for Medical Devices and the Pharmaceutical Service at the Italian Ministry of Health with experience of GMP inspections of pharmaceutical companies, investigations for PMC, biocides, and cosmetics authorizations, surveillance and oversight activities in the PMC, biocides, and cosmetics sectors, expert in PMC advertising. 

At European level she represents the Italian competent authority at the CA meetings and the standing committee.

She is furthermore responsible for evaluation of notifications for the production, import, and marketing of cosmetic products, valuation for the issuance of certificates of free sale of cosmetic products, the issuance of certificates of free sale of cosmetic products and a member of the working group on cosmetovigilance, with the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, representatives of the regions, the NAS (National Health Agency), and trade associations for the dealing of health issues concerning cosmetics supervision for the Ministry.

She is also member of the working group for drafting the text of the information notes within the framework of phase B.4.2.2 of strategic objective B.4 "Combating the counterfeiting of cosmetic products aimed at protecting the health of citizens" established by the general directive for administrative activity and management (pursuant to Articles 4 and 14 of Legislative Decree No. 165 of March 30, 2001, as amended) and involved in the preparation and investigation for the relevant adoption of Article 31 ("Provisions relating to the sale of cosmetic products electronically. Implementation of Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009") of European Law 2019-2020.
