Emma Trogen

Deputy Director General, Cosmetics Europe

A lawyer by qualification, Emma is Deputy Director General of Cosmetics Europe since 2020. Before that, she headed the Legal Department of Cosmetics Europe since 2013.

Emma was trained as a lawyer at the Universities of Nantes and Rennes in France. She also attended the University of Cardiff, Wales for one year during her studies. Her studies at Masters level focused on EU law. She is a qualified lawyer at the Brussels Bar and practiced law in two international law firms in Brussels before joining Cosmetics Europe. She also has experience as a trainee at the European Commission.

At Cosmetics Europe, Emma supports the Director General in the overall management of CE and in this role, she is particularly in charge of internal horizontal policy coordination. She heads the legal department and has also actively contributed to building up Cosmetics Europe’s sustainability work in the last years. She also recently supported the transition from an internal sciences program to an external scientific organization, whilst managing the rebuilt of the CE internal science expertise.
