Richard Luit
Richard Luit is Head of the Bureau REACH embedded within the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). The Bureau is an executive and advisory body providing scientific and policy advice to the responsible Dutch Ministries. The duties of the Bureau are related to international chemicals management with a primary focus on REACH and CLP and the relations with other EU chemicals regulations and OECD and UN developments. Richard heads the Bureau since 2020 and on behalf of RIVM acts as senior policy advisor and spokesperson for REACH and CLP. He is currently is member of the Dutch delegations in the REACH Committee and CARACAL and has broad experience in other fora such as SEAC. Richard has a background in Environmental Science with a specialization in toxicology, he earned a Masters Degree Environmental Sciences at Wageningen University in 1996.
