Steffen Foss Hansen is an Associate Professor at DTU Sustain, Technical University of Denmark, where he specializes in regulatory engineering, environmental risk assessment, and the governance of emerging technologies. His research focuses on chemicals, advanced materials, PFAS, nanomaterials, microplastics, and the development of AI-supported approaches for chemical risk assessment and sustainable innovation. He serves as Head of the PhD School at DTU Sustain and contributes to national and international research, policy, and regulatory initiatives. Through his work, he aims to bridge science, engineering, and regulation to support evidence-based decision-making for environmental and human health protection.
