Jack de Bruijn
Jack started working at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) right from the start in September 2007. After having led the Risk Management Directorate for 8 years he is now leading the Directorate for Prioritisation and Integration. The Directorate is responsible for providing information and advice on chemistry and on use and exposure of chemicals to various legislative processes, for developing computational methods and tools for collecting and analysing data and it co-ordinates the identification and prioritisation of (groups of) substances requiring further regulatory actions.
Before joining the Agency Jack worked at the European Chemicals Bureau (ECB) of the Joint Research Centre (JRC/EC) in Italy where he coordinated the development of the guidance documents for REACH. Before joining the ECB he worked for many years for the Dutch national authorities in the area of regulatory risk assessment of chemicals. Jack is chemist by training and has a PhD in environmental toxicology.
