Hannela is a government officer who drafts environmental legislation and has worked with both chemicals management under REACH, RoHS and POPs regulations and with waste management. Both experiences have provided her with the ideal perspective from which to regulate substances through their whole lifecycle in the circular economy framework. She firmly believes in using a harmonised approach in the application of environmental legislation. The success of a requirement will depend on whether it adequately takes into account requirements in related fields and how actors perceive and implement it.
