Dr Angela Bearth
Angela (Dr. sc. ETH) works as a senior researchers at the Consumer Behavior group at ETH Zurich and at the Swiss Centre for Applied Human Toxicology at the University of Basel. Her main research areas are consumer behaviour, risk perception and individual and societal decision making. After studying Social and Health Psychology at the University of Zurich, she got her PhD at the ETH Zurich at the Consumer Behaviour group. After a short stint in Marketing, she returned to applied research. Her areas of expertise are the public awareness of toxicological science, decision making regarding hazardous household chemicals and the public perception of regulatory issues (e.g., trace chemicals in consumer products, pesticide use in agriculture). For several years, Angela has been active in consulting and training toxicologists from industry and regulation in Switzerland and internationally. From summer 2024 on, she will be doing this in her own consulting and R&D company, HF Partners (https://hfpartners.ch/). Angela is currently president-elect of the Society for Risk Analysis Europe and is the vice-president of the Forum for Genetic Research.
