Bernadette Quinn
Dr Bernadette Quinn is an expert in the analysis of alternatives and is project manager for the authorisation team at REACHLaw. The team provides a range of services from preparing applications for authorisation, exemption analysis, scoping studies to technical advocacy for clients. Prior to joining REACHLaw, she worked at ECHA for 10 years in the registration and risk management directorates. She contributed to the development of guidance relating to substance identification, nanomaterials and participated in projects with DG JRC relating to the revision of the REACH annexes for nanomaterials.
She has worked in collaborative projects with industry stakeholders on developing sector specific guidelines e.g. for inorganic UVCBs. In 2018, she worked on the microplastics restriction dossier. Prior to joining ECHA, she worked for 10 years in academia in Finland, the US and the Netherlands on proof of concept research on nanomaterials. She is a native English speaker and has a doctorate specializing in electrochemistry from Helsinki University of Technology (nowadays Aalto University).
