Vice President Cosmetic Programs, The Personal Care Products Council, US

Dr Ansell brings extensive experience leading global safety, regulatory and quality initiatives in the personal care products and specialty chemicals industries. 

Joining the Personal Care Products Council (formerly CTFA) in May 2006 he is currently Vice President - Cosmetic Programs where he is responsible for providing technical support for the Council staff and various committees and task forces addressing the science and regulation of personal care products. 

Dr Ansell came to the Council from Yves Rocher, a France-based personal care products company, where he served as Director of North American Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs. He previously has been Vice President of Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs at two international specialty chemical companies. 

He is a noted speaker on a wide range of topics including safety and risk assessment. He serves as Chairman of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC 217-Cosmetics, was Founder and President of the Council for Advanced Agricultural Formulations and is past President of the International Society of Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology. 

Trained as a chemist, Dr Ansell received his B.A. from Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and an M.S. from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He completed his graduate studies at Binghamton University - State University of New York where he was granted a Ph.D. for his work on novel synthetic routes to bioactive materials. He is a certified Diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology and included in the European registry of Toxicologists.
