Lead Policy Advisor – Chemicals Policy, Royal Society of Chemistry

Camilla Alexander-White is an independent chemical safety assessor of 28 years’ plus experience, reviewing and assuring the safety of product-critical ingredients or environmental contaminants coming under regulatory scrutiny in UK and Europe. She is a Eurotox Registered Toxicologist (ERT), Chartered Chemist (CChem) and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC).

Camilla is Chair of the multidisciplinary UK Foods Standards Agency (FSA) Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes (ACNFP) and prior to that was toxicologist on the committee for 8 years; Vice-Chair of the OPSS Science Advisory Group on Chemical Safety in Consumer Products (SAG-CS); a Member of the Health & Safety Executive Science Quality Assurance Group (SQAG) and a member of the UK REACH Independent Science Expert Pool (RISEP), having moderated two REACH authorisation Challenge Panels.

Camilla also works part time for the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) as Lead Policy Advisor in Chemicals Policy, advising on UK and international chemicals strategy and post Brexit regulation. She is currently representing the RSC and working as a science adviser to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) on the establishment of a new science policy panel for chemicals, waste and pollution prevention.
