Marleen Pauwels
Executive Director, Halogens Industry Sector, European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic)
Marleen joined Cefic as sector group manager in 2011. Seven years later, she took the role of Executive Director of the Halogens Industry Sector. In 2021, she set up FPP4EU, Cefic’s sector group dealing with fluoroproducts and PFAS. Marleen obtained her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, with a special focus on human toxicology and alternatives to animal testing. She gained industry experience as Senior Regulatory Affairs and Toxicology Analyst for a chemical company.
