  7. REACHing Out: A Discussion on recent developments in REACH and CLP

Over the past two years there have been significant amendments to REACH and CLP in several areas including:

    • Nanoforms
    • Annex XVII restrictions
    • Poison Centre Notification
    • Annex XIV authorisations
    • Revised SDS Format : Annex II
    • Endocrine Disruptors
    • Titanium Dioxide
    • Additional harmonised classifications

In this session we will review the impacts of the amendments on hazard communication, regulatory compliance, risk assessment and management of chemicals.

During the same time period the UK versions of these regulations came into force.  We will touch briefly on which amendments were carried over into UK law.

Finally, we look at the future roadmap planned for REACH and CLP of even more significant amendments that are forecast as a result of the far-reaching Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS) Policy of the European Union.
