André Algazi
Manager, Safer Consumer Products Branch, California Department of Toxic Substances Control
André Algazi joined California’s innovative Safer Consumer Products (SCP) regulatory program in 2013. As leader of SCP’s Chemical and Product Evaluation Team, he led development of systems and processes for evaluating and prioritizing hazardous chemicals found in consumer products sold in California. His team has evaluated dozens of chemicals in a range of consumer product categories and has developed technical documents to support regulation of more than a dozen specific products. Since August 2021, he has led the SCP Branch.
