Mike is a member of the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG) Working Group 9 – Emerging Chemicals and Environmental Regulations. IAEG is a non-profit organization of global aerospace companies created to collaborate on and share innovative environmental solutions for the industry. The group works to promote the development of voluntary consensus standards and provide accessible solutions for key environmental issues. Working Group 9 is committed to developing an approach to help the Aerospace and Defense industry evaluate emerging global environmental and chemical regulations and their impact on compliance and potential operational risk for companies and their supply chain.
Mike is a Principal Engineer within the Corporate ESH organization. Mike joined Lockheed Martin in 2015 after spending more than 25 years providing ESH support to the chemicals and consumer products industries. Earlier in his career, Mike supported the manufacturing and utilities infrastructure at a large chemical manufacturer, providing ESH supports on projects such as incineration/wastewater treatment design, permitting, and compliance. Later, Mike was involved in product design and commercialization projects that advanced ‘green’ attributes in products allowing for increased sales and global market penetration. For many years, Mike has been an active participant in various trade group and consortiums seeking to gain favorable outcomes for industry predicated on the principals of sound science and policy. In his current role, Mike partners with Government Affairs and Legal along with several external consortia partners to seek solutions to complex ESH challenges. Mike currently resides and works out of his farm/home located in Western Pennsylvania, USA.
