Hear the latest updates to placing chemical products on the Chinese market
When placing chemical products on the Chinese market, it is essential that overseas enterprises are aware of and pay attention to two regulations.
The first, MEE Order 12, was officially implemented by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) on 1 January 2021. It replaced the original MEP Order 7 and became China’s management standard for new chemical substances
The second, SAWS Order 53, requires domestic manufacturers and importers to register hazardous chemicals with the National Registration Center for Chemicals (NRCC).
Under SAWS Order 53, the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) officially launched a new hazardous chemicals registration system on 16 February. For registered products that are manufactured or imported into China, the system will automatically generate a QR code and enterprises are obliged to provide this to downstream purchasers in the future.
After completing this webinar, you will know:
- the challenges of registering new chemical substances in China;
- the requirements for registering hazardous chemicals registration under SAWS Order 53; and
- the impact on enterprises after the launch of the new hazardous chemicals registration system.
