Ashley E Pedersen
Ashley Pedersen is a Policy Liaison for the Local Management Hazardous Waste Program (LHWMP) in King County, Washington. Ashley’s career in environmental policy began with a love of science. She earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Tennessee in December 1999. She then attended University of Washington School of Law and earned a Juris Doctor in 2003.
Ashley learned the ropes in environmental policy interning at the U.S. Department of State (Bureau of Ocean, Environment and Science) and with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office (Natural Resources Division). Ashley spent 11 years in private law practice, focused on contaminated site cleanups, including work on the Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund Site in Seattle. She also served as Counsel for the Washington State House of Representatives in 2007-09. Ashley has also been a contributing author for the Sightline Institute, a Seattle-based research center, regarding stormwater regulations. Ashley joined LHWMP in January 2016.
