Maria Amon
Since 2024 Maria has been responsible for CA-Meetings, SCBP and national composting regulation at the Austrian Competent Authority for Biocides. In her previous role she represented the ministry in court cases relating to waste management.
From 2013 to 2019 she worked for the Austrian Competent Authority for Biocides on legal and policy issues/fee management, was contact point to Commission, applicants, consultants, Competent Authorities of other Member States and attended CA-Meetings.
Before then Maria worked on enforcement of the Water Management Act and the Waste Management Act; Transposition of Directive 1999/31/EC on landfill of waste, 2000/76/EC on the incineration of waste and 2010/75/EU on industrial emissions into national law. She also attended different working groups at the European level (TAC Meeting, European Council Working Parties), National expert in the Impel-Project: Comparison programme for landfill inspection and monitoring, Twinning Experience; Expert in Reporting obligations and the Austrian “electronic data management system”.
After her law degree (Mag.iur/Master of Laws) at the University of Vienna, she joined the civil service in the Austrian Ministry of Environment in 1992.
