Product Stewardship 101 - Day 1

Prior to beginning her consulting career in 2018, Kelly spent 15 years at the USEPA Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics in Washington, DC. She served as a technical expert on the use of predictive models to assess environmental fate, hazard, and exposure concerns for industrial chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).

Maryann Sanders has a M.S. in Occupational and Environmental Health from Wayne State University and has worked in Product Stewardship for 25 years. Her work tenure has included time at BASF, NSF International and global consulting firms.

Kate Sellers leads multidisciplinary problem-solving teams that help ERM clients to meet their business goals. Her work ranges from assisting clients in building and auditing global product stewardship programs to fulfilling specific regulatory requirements and supporting product sustainability programs.

Dr. Kevin Kransler is a Principal Consultant at ERM. Kevin has more than 14 years' experience in product stewardship, global regulatory affairs, human health toxicology, and risk assessment. His work has included support in new chemical development and commercialization, indirect food contact compliance, and developing strategic regulatory affairs programs to meet business objectives. He is an active member of the Product Stewardship Society and currently serves as a Board Member. Kevin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) and a Certified Professional Product Steward (CPPS).

Mark is a Principal Toxicologist based in ERM’s Cincinnati, Ohio office. He has over 35 years of experience in the field of toxicology and risk assessment characterizing and evaluating the health effects of consumer products, ingredients, and environmental chemicals. He designed, managed, and interpreted hundreds of investigative and regulatory studies utilizing in vivo, in vitro, and in silico methods. He has contributed risk assessments and read-across justifications to dozens of European REACH dossiers and US EPA Pre-manufacturing Notifications (PMNs). Mark has published his work in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters and regularly presents at professional and scientific meetings.

Jaime is a Principal Consultant with ERM and has over 19 years of experience in human health toxicology and regulatory affairs within the chemical industry. She has reviewed hundreds of formulations and performed in depth risk assessments on chemicals, cosmetics, food contact and medical device products. She has developed and implemented company chemical usage guidelines, assessed global regulatory compliance, registered new chemicals under TSCA, supported FIFRA registrations, led occupational exposure testing and managed the QAU under GLP. Jaime is proficient with global regulations including TSCA, FIFRA, OSHA, CPSC, California Proposition 65, REACH and GHS.

Retired in August, 2020, after 35 years at US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the area of chemical regulation, risk management and policy development under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). Joined ERM as a Principal Consultant in January, 2022. Experience at EPA was with the New Chemicals Program and all aspects of the review process for Premanufacture Notices (PMNs), including writing and publication of Significant New Use Rules (SNURs).
