Safer Chemicals in Products 2018

Boma Brown-West is Senior Manager of Consumer Health at the Environmental Defense Fund. She works with companies to reduce toxic chemicals and incentivize safer alternatives in consumer products. As the lead NGO partner with Walmart, Brown-West works on the largest global voluntary safer chemicals policy, so far reducing 23 million lbs. of chemicals of concern. Brown-West pioneered the Five Pillars of Leadership and Behind the Label: a Blueprint for Safer Chemicals in the Marketplace. Brown-West worked in product engineering and sustainability at Whirlpool Corporation.

Boma has an M.S. in Technology & Policy from MIT and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University.
