She obtained her undergraduate degree in Physiology from San Francisco State University.She has a PhD in Immunology from University of California, Los Angeles where she also did her post-doctoral fellowship. Prior to working for CDPR, Lucia worked as an Environmental Health Specialist in Los Angeles County.
