  18. Industry Panel Session: challenges for enforcement and compliance in FCM regulations

Food contact materials include food packaging (plastics, paper, cardboard, cans, etc.) and food production equipment (tubes, conveyor belts, containers, gloves etc.). Food packaging
plays a key role in ensuring the quality and hygienic safety of food products, as well as for
printing information about food, its ingredients and for the branding of the product. However, the materials used in packaging contain a large number of chemicals which can transfer into food, considered one of the most important routes of human exposure to chemicals.

Panellists in this workshop will discuss aspects of assessing risk and determining human exposure to chemicals in FCM and how to bridge the gap that currently exists
between the regulatory requirements and enforcing legislation.

    Speakers include:

    Sylvain Rannou Sylvain Rannou
NQAC Expert, Packaging Safety & Compliance (PS&C) in AOA, Nestle Quality Assurance Centre
    Linda Zhu Linda Zhu
Senior Manager, Quality and Compliance, HAVI
