Global Business Summit 2018: Highlights
The annual Chemical Watch Global Business Summit provides a unique opportunity to explore the most pressing challenges facing the international regulatory community.
In 2019, the Global Business Summit will be taking place on 26-27 March 2019 in Brussels, Belgium. The agenda will be centered around the 'global drivers for the chemicals management of the future', with a particular focus on chemicals management and sustainable development.
What happened at the 2018 Global Business Summit?
Last year, we focused on four key challenges:
- Tracking substances of concern in articles
- The circular economy
- Endocrine disruptors
For each of these four areas, we heard from recognised experts who explained the current state of play, from a regulatory and voluntary perspective in Europe, and where relevant further afield. The event also featured leading organisations who revealed how they are dealing with and creating opportunities from these challenges. Panel discussions throughout the event also provided delegates with plenty of opportunities for debate and discussion.
8 things we learned
If you missed last year’s event, you can catch up on all the key points in this piece by our editorial director Geraint Roberts. He lists eight of the most important outcomes from last year’s Summit.
- Industry representatives start talks on cross-sector material declarations
- EU-wide app to learn from Danish project problems
- Horizon2020 EDC projects will include validation
