Bob DeMott is board-certified in toxicology and specializes in risk assessment and product stewardship. He has more than 30 years of experience evaluating human health and environmental risks related to chemical releases from manufacturing facilities, products in commerce, and waste disposal.

Dr. DeMott has:

• evaluated toxicity and persistence of short-chain specialty fluoropolymers compared with 
  older PFAS compounds and characterized how potential risks changed subsequent to AFFF 
  formulation changes;
• directed assessments of short-chain PFAS alternatives supporting ingredient substitution 
  and product sustainability goals for coatings and surfactants;
• determined the suitability of potential read-across approaches for PFAS used in electronic
  components; and
• developed notification and compliance backup materials for polymeric PFAS materials in 
  products subject to new state regulation.
