Scott MacLeod
Scott is an inaugural member of the Primary Designated Engineers and a Corporate Fellow at UL LLC working out of UL’s Melville NY USA office. His responsibilities include technical competency, global consistency, integrity, and engineering quality in the development, maintenance and application of certification requirements in the material and analytical chemistry disciplines. His specialty areas include the compositional analysis of materials, liquid flammability and corrosion protection coatings.
cott participates in standard development activities with multiple organizations including ASHRAE, ASTM, IEC, ISO and of course UL. He is the Co-TA of the USA National Committee to the International Electrotechnical Commission’s (IEC) TC111 (Environmental standardization for electrical and electronic products and systems) and the Co-Convenor of the IEC TC111 working group #3 responsible for the “defacto” RoHS test method standard “IEC 62321”. Scott is also the test method subcommittee Chair of ASTM International’s technical committee F40 on Declarable Substances in Materials, Consulting Member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) SSPC34 Standing Standard Project Committee 34 (SSPC 34) on the Designation and Safety Classification of Refrigerants and the Flammability Task Force Chair for the ISO 817 Refrigerants - Safety Classification Maintenance Agency.
