Heribert Buergy
With a Phd in physical chemistry at the University of Berne, Switzerland, Heribert has worked for 15 years in the enforcement of the environmental protection as an analytical chemist for different authorities. With this background, he has a broad experience of analytical methods and the enforcement of the environmental legislation for water, wastewater, soil and air.
In 2006, Heribert changed to the Federal Office of Public Health as head of the section Market Control and Advice. Since then he has been responsible for the coordination and enforcement of chemicals and biocides in Switzerland. Besides the enforcement, Heribert initiated several research projects for a better understanding of the perception of danger symbols and the occurrences of accidents with chemicals.
