Agnes Lau
Agnes Lau is a seasoned regulatory leader with close to two decades of experience in product safety and chemical regulations across the Asia Pacific region. As Director of Product Safety Asia Pacific at BASF, she leads a cross-functional team responsible for steering regulatory compliance and product stewardship across more than 60 entities in the region.
Agnes is widely recognised for her advocacy in both emerging and established regulatory frameworks. She currently chairs the ASEAN Regulatory Cooperation Platform’s Virtual Working Group on GHS and plays an active role in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Chemical Dialogue, as well as chemical association platforms such as the Emerging Regulatory Working Group of the Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC) and Regulatory Affairs of the Chemical Industries Council of Malaysia (CICM).
Her leadership is marked by a strong commitment to regulatory clarity, risk-based implementation, and stakeholder collaboration. Agnes is also a certified Co-Active Coach and a mentor for leadership development programmes within BASF, reflecting her passion for people development and inclusive leadership.
