Gerard McElwee
Gerard is a Partner in Fieldfisher's Brussels-based EU Regulatory group. His practice focuses on EU product regulatory matters involving everything from chemicals (REACH, biocides, pesticides, and CLP) to detergents, cosmetics, toys, packaging, single-use plastics, WEEE/RoHS, waste, ecocide etc.
This includes general compliance advice, strategic advice on anticipated legislative changes, and risk/crisis advice on product liability and product recall issues. Gerard also advises groups of companies on the collective support of certain chemical substances under the REACH, biocides or pesticides frameworks.
Gerard also advises on contentious matters, and has represented many clients before the European Courts, European Agencies, and national courts.
