Bo Balduyck discusses substance tracking and ECHA’s SVHCs database
During this year's Global Business Summit, which took place on 26-27 March in Brussels, ECHA’s Bo Balduyck led a talk about systems for substance tracking and the ECHA database for substances of very high concern (SVHCs) in articles. During the presentation, Bo emphasises that here are still a lot of steps to be taken before we really get to the implementation of submitting notifications to the agency, and the strong role that member states have to play
in this.
He also identifies the need to look at the involvement of national authorities and how they will interpret this legal text, which they will need to translate into their national law, as well as how we can harmonise this process across the EU.
