Claudio is heading the Hazard Unit III, responsible for the coordination of substance evaluations undertaken by Member States Competent Authorities, proposals for inclusion of substances in the Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) list, performance of compliance checks of the registration dossiers, support to the implementation of the persistent organic pollutants (POPs) Regulation, management of Expert Groups on PBT and endocrine disruptors.

Claudio started working at the European Chemicals Agency in 2007. Before joining the Agency he worked at the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Ispra. He started his career in the University of Venice and in a research and consultancy consortium of academia and chemical industry. He has over 20 years of experience in the field of risk assessment of chemicals and holds a PhD in chemistry.
