Denise Fernandez, Ph.D., is a Senior Consultant at Scientific & Regulatory Consultants, Inc. (SRC).  Denise earned her BS in Biology from Purdue University, Fort Wayne and her doctorate from Northwestern University in Microbiology.  Her experience includes over 12 years of academic research experience, resulting in her contribution to the field of microbiology through numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences. 

In her role at SRC, Denise specializes in the development of efficacy testing strategies and data generation for the EPA registration of antimicrobial products.  Since joining SRC in 2016, she has successfully managed over a thousand efficacy studies with multiple contract laboratories for a variety of formulations, uses, and organisms.  She actively participates in multiple trade association and standard setting efficacy-related work groups, including the Center for Biocide Chemistries’ Legionella Work Group, who assisted with the drafting of EPA’s recently released Guidance and Test Method for the Efficacy Testing of Antimicrobial Products Against Planktonic Legionella pneumophila in Cooling Tower Water.
