Hugo has represented the metals sector on REACH and other chemicals management programs for the past 15 years. He takes part in the ECHA SEAC and MSC meetings as industry observer and has therefore first-hand experience in respect to REACH programs and how they are implemented by sectors and companies.

Violaine Verougstraete studied medicine and toxicology at the Catholic University of Louvain, did a DEA in Public Health and obtained her PhD in Public Health in 2005 from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). She worked as a researcher at the Industrial Toxicology and Occupational Medicine Unit of the Catholic University of Louvain for 8 years. She joined Eurometaux in May 2005 as Health and Alloys Manager. Since January 1, 2012, she is Chemicals Management Director at Eurometaux, coordinating all chemicals management activities. She attends ECHA Risk Assessment Committee meetings as a regular stakeholder. She is teaching Human Toxicology at the RUG (Universiteit Gent) and Regulatory Toxicology at the UCL (Catholic University of Louvain, Faculty of Medicine).

Caroline is a chemical legislation expert, with experience of interpreting and implementing EU legislation relating to hazardous chemical substances. Her knowledge and expertise is wide ranging, covering both supply and transport legislation including REACH, Safety Data Sheets, Poison Centres, ADR, COSHH, basically anything related to chemical safety and compliance! Caroline is very passionate about her work and wants to ensure that everyone is safe in their work with dangerous goods and chemicals and that companies comply fully with the regulations. Caroline will also help companies to save money where perhaps they are overregulating, a good example of this is suggesting that companies transport in Limited Quantities (LQ) (where applicable of course!) thus saving money by not needing to purchase UN approved packaging.

Harro Elsborg LL.M. has obtained his “Master of Laws” (Commercial Law) at the University of Leiden, Netherlands. He has been working as a consultant for Cap Gemini. In 1996 he founded Trade Wind B.V., specializing in solving issues for the Chemical Industry. In 2002 Trade Wind signed a distribution agreement with Lisam Systems in Belgium, now one of the leading SDS-software vendors in the world. Current products include ExESS (worldwide SDS-authoring and Chemicals Management, PubliChem (SDS-distribution) and Chemspector (location Management for Chemicals). In 2019 the SDS-authoring services were set aside in another company: Chempros B.V. of which Harro is still shareholder and (non-executing) director.

Manon advises clients on regulatory compliance matters and litigation cases relating to EU, French and Belgian law.

Dr. Vaibhav Diwan is a leading professional in the global chemical regulatory space. He is an expert in establishing regulatory compliance as an opportunity for business growth in the chemicals sector and related sectors. As General Manager (Growth) at GPC, he works with the senior management of multinational companies, helping them grow across the global market space by strategically addressing compliance challenges. He holds a Ph.D in Life Science (Molecular Biology and Microbiology).

Martina Schneider earned her doctorate in environmental chemistry at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig, Germany. Her education included laboratory studies and modeling work on the environmental fate of organic compounds, such as pesticides.

Marina Dorileo leads the content expansion of Enhesa beyond Environmental, Health, and Safety. As the Content Incubation Manager at Enhesa, she has the opportunity to learn something new every day and engage with the most diverse stakeholders, internally and externally. She also ensures that the products developed align with her client’s needs and ultimately help them become more sustainable organizations. Her work significantly impacts multinational companies worldwide, empowering them to operate in a socially responsible and environmentally conscious manner.

Dr. Piyatida (Tung) Pukclai has worked in several technical and managerial positions within the Business Development and Regulatory Policy. Currently, she is Asia-Pacific Lead for Regulatory Policy and Business Development of knoell, an independent service provider for Regulatory Affairs and Product Registration over 25 years.

Rich joined CHEMTREC in 2019 and serves as the Director of International Business. With nearly 20 years of experience working with private and public sector organizations who have complex risk and compliance challenges, Rich is responsible for forming strategic partnerships with international accounts that interface into and out of the U.S.

Stacey has been part of Enhesa's Expert Services Team since November 2023, but within the wider global product compliance industry for over 20 years. A librarian by training, she has a Master of Information and Library Science and considerable experience delivering bespoke research and analysis to the world's biggest companies, as well as launching compliance products geared towards a wide range of sectors.

Dr. Passarella is an expert strategist in navigating international chemical regulations.  At Intertek, she uses her chemical and legal experience and skill at interpreting complex chemical regulations to design and implement effective policies to protect client’s products.  During her career, Dr. Passarella has advocated for sustainable chemical management to enable the manufacture and sale of products in US and global markets. After completing her Ph.D. in chemistry, she formulated products, managed R&D groups, and managed global Product Stewardship and Sustainability. It was during this time that she pursued a law degree at night school, and is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  Her combination of industry experience, and an in-depth knowledge of chemistry and the law enables her to translate regulatory trends and requirements into business and compliance action plans.

John is a Senior Partner at ERM and co-leads ERM’s global PFAS working group. John has over 30 years of environmental, safety and sustainability leadership experience helping companies manage business risks and opportunities and deliver on their strategic priorities.

For over 24 years Claudio Mereu has been focusing on EU Regulatory law, with an emphasis on the chemicals (REACH), pesticides, biocides and life sciences industry sectors. Claudio handles product approval and registration processes in the EU, related litigation before European and national courts, as well as ECHA’s Board of Appeal, and counsels companies on a wide range of business law matters relating to their international agreements and commercial presence in Europe. His expertise covers all aspects of product stewardship, regulations and restrictions (including notification, data protection, mutual recognition, classification & labelling, marketing and use restrictions, parallel imports, environmental liability, product recalls and data compensation negotiations, amongst others). Claudio is highly recommended as a Tier1 lawyer by Legal500 and Chambers Europe, and is a regular speaker and panelist at international conferences.

Simon advises companies on EU life-science and environmental legislation, ranging from REACH, biocides, agro-food to cosmetics and electronic equipment.

Dirk possesses 25 years of experience within the field of environmental consulting and has led more than 5,000 projects for major global organisations in sectors including energy, metals and mining, steel, sustainable finance, manufacturing, (petro)chemical, real estate and automotive. His focus is helping companies tackle their biggest ESG challenges and mitigate their environmental liabilities. As a subject matter expert in PFAS, Dirk is highly experienced in developing tailored strategies and programmes to address PFAS related risks, and to provide the stakeholder management support.

Part of EPPA since 2018, Alex’s expertise lies in navigating the intricacies of European health and environmental policies in highly regulated sectors such as agri-food products and biocides.

Meglena Mihova is a Managing Partner at EPPA, with over 20 years of experience in EU chemicals and environmental legislation. She has been working on REACH since 2001. She helped companies and industry associations to develop and implement successful advocacy strategy which resulted in mitigating risks for prioritization and restriction of substances under REACH and getting positive authorization outcome.

Eléonore Mullier specializes in EU regulatory law and litigation. She advises clients who, whether based in the EU or not, come into contact with EU regulations affecting the placing on the EU market of their products. Eléonore's knowledge extends to the entire life-cycle of materials, from chemicals legislation (biocides, REACH, classification and labelling, POPs, PPPs, etc.) to product and waste legislation (CE marking, RoHS/WEEE, Ecodesign, medical devices, single use plastics, waste and end-of-waste). She also advises clients on the interface between these regulations and on cross-sectoral issues including the European Green Deal initiatives

Maud has over 14 years' experience advising clients on EU regulatory and environmental law (REACH, biocides, pesticides, food additives, WEEE, RoHS, cosmetics, medical devices, etc.), as well as worker protection, product safety and public health. She has particular expertise in the EU biocidal and agrochemical sectors as well as commodity chemicals.

Natalie practices in highly regulated fields, in the areas of European Union, with a specific focus on chemicals (REACH, Biocides and plant protection products). She is involved in the establishment and running of Task Forces and Consortia related to REACH and the Biocidal Products Regulation, and provides legal support, including data sharing negotiations with third parties.

Dr Wang-Hauenstein studied Macromolecular chemistry at the University of Bayreuth and is holding a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Starting her career as a Product Stewardship Manager in 2017 in chemical industry, she joined Knoell Germany in 2021 as project manager where she supports European and non-EU manufacturers with the focus on REACH and China Regulatory Affairs.

Alexander joined the CHEDMOX team in 2022. His work centers around regulatory compliance, including aspects related to GHS or national regulations. Alexander’s expertise lies at the intersection of business processes and regulatory requirements, e.g. with regard to the EU Poison Centre Notification. An additional focus of his work is thus software integration with third-party systems.

Willi has over 30 years’ experience in the Chemical industry. In his long carrier he has held positions in R&D, Technical Customer Service and Business Development. At the same time as the EU REACH white book was published, he moved into Product Compliance in 2006. Willi has been involved in all sorts of Product Stewardship topics on an international scale, such as REACH, GHS, Biocides, Transport classification, import and export regulations ever since.   

Cristina studied Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, Portugal. She worked for several years in regulatory affairs for industrial and consumer goods business, where she gained experience in the EU chemicals legislation (REACH, CLP, biocides, FCMs, electronics, …) and in chemical legislation for other regions such as Latin American countries. She recently joined knoell as a Project Manager for the Chemicals and Product Safety Regulatory Affairs.

Carrie has been with Sphera Solutions for more than 13 years. In her role as manager, regulatory content, she is responsible for the analysis and implementation of global chemical regulations into the Sphera Product Stewardship offerings and the web-based intelligent authoring training programme. She is the chair of the Global Regulatory Focus Group which is a monthly client-based forum where regulatory updates, issues and new system implementations are discussed.

Dan Bastien is a subject matter expert in Canada with specific experience in the Chemical Management Plan. Dan serves as Senior Director of the Chemicals Group at Intertek Health Sciences, Inc. In this role, he delivers business development expertise, expert advice and direction to clients who seek support in understanding and complying with a wide variety of global chemical control legislation and regulatory initiatives. He works closely with the Chemicals team of regulatory and scientific experts who help clients address challenging regulatory climates and demanding marketplaces, in a timely and cost-effective manner. 

Jillian currently leads Enhesa’s Sustainable Chemistry business unit made up of Scivera and ToxPlanet. The Sustainable Chemistry business focuses on helping companies make safer, more sustainable choices for their products and process chemistry with solutions that help identify potentially hazardous chemicals and allowing companies to take action to protect people, the environment and their brand. 

John is currently working as a Product Safety Manager, providing the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of clients and work at the forefront of regulatory progress. His focus has always been master data management and has devised and implemented various strategies to handle new or updated regulatory requirements including CLP, REACH, Poison Centre Notification etc. 

Rudolf has more than 20 years of experience advising international clients on product and chemical safety. He coordinates a wide range of projects from assisting clients in the design, implementation and auditing of global PS management systems and compliance programmes to meeting specific regulatory requirements for chemical registration/authorization/notification and other product compliance requirements.

As Principal for Health Science Cécile supports Ramboll’s clients in Europe in Product Compliance & Stewardship matters, such as chemical and biocidal registrations, regulatory strategy development and ESG and product sustainability related topics.

Oliver Spaniol is a Group Leader in the Chemicals and Product Safety Division and the Program Manager for the Sustainability Program at knoell Germany GmbH. He has profound knowledge on REACH topics and regulatory developments within the European Green Deal and the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability. He and his team provide regulatory support related to product safety and master data management in EHS software.

Darren enables clients throughout the chemicals and life sciences supply chain to get and keep their products on the European market (both in the UK and the EU). He provides a global clientele (companies, consortia and trade associations) with strategic advice, undertakes advocacy before public authorities and agencies and litigates before courts and tribunals (including the ECHA board of appeal and CJEU). Darren has a wealth of experience with regulation of biocidal products, plant protection products, REACH, CLP, food and feed, GMOs and wider aspects of environmental law, including extensive work with the Aarhus convention. He loves tackling “impossible” problems, learning new fields and working in multi-disciplinary client teams, with scientists, business leaders, regulatory and public affairs specialists and (even other) lawyers.
