Hugo Waeterschoot has a background as a scientist from Ghent University and has also a degree in executive business management (Vlerik Management School). During his 15 years of experience in a multinational metals company, he worked in different functions many of them related to Chemicals management followed by 15 years of experience in association work on this theme.
He presently represents the metals sector on REACH and other chemicals management programs and takes part in the ECHA SEAC (Socio-Economic Committee) and MSC (Member States committee) meetings as Industry observer. He, therefore, has first-hand experience with respect to REACH programs and how they are implemented by sectors and companies.
