Matthew Chalkley
Matthew Chalkley is a Senior Environmental Consultant and Supply Chain Leader with over 30 years’ experience working in the technology industry, with 21 years at IBM. Matthew is currently providing industry intelligence consultancy services for the global trade association, IPC.
Matthew has held senior operational management positions and led teams of up to 200, across engineering, manufacturing, materials management, procurement, and fulfillment functions. Matthew presently leads a global team of senior engineers within IBM’s Center of Excellence for Product Environmental Compliance and provides oversite for IBM’s Supply Chain Social & Environmental Management. From 2015 to 2020, Matthew chaired a cross-industry and academia sustainable electronics technical workgroup for the International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative that produces industry roadmaps every two years. Over the last 15 years, Matthew has collaborated with the Smurfit School of Business, University College Dublin, on many initiatives, including contributing to research and provide guest lectures on sustainable procurement.
Matthew is passionate about motivating and inspiring teams to deliver value through the end-to-end supply chain and to explore opportunities to apply new technologies, with a specific focus on sustainability and risk mitigation.
