Caroline Li
Dr. Caroline Li is currently APAC regional director of IFRA. Prior to this, Dr. Li has been Advisor, product safety and regulatory, Exxon Mobile Asia Pacific. She has been the Regional Head, Asia Pacific – Product Safety, BASF until June 2017. Her responsibilities included management of a team of regulatory experts in Asia Pacific countries and a regional team in Kuala Lumpur, notification of products and chemicals, as well as regulatory compliance in Asia Pacific countries. Before that she was Head, Regulatory Services Asia Pacific at Ciba Specialty Chemicals from 2005 until 2009, when Ciba was acquired by BASF. In addition to leading Ciba’s internal Regulatory Services for Asia, she was also leading external consulting services for regulatory matters for leading FMCG and chemical companies. Previous business experience includes the role of head of Regulatory Affairs fragrance/cosmetics ingredients in Asia Pacific for Symrise Pte Ltd, a global leading fragrance/flavor company, working as a toxicologist in Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs for Procter & Gamble in Kobe, Japan and working as a business manager for system implementation projects for Procter & Gamble in Singapore.
Dr Li has a PhD in Immunotoxicology at Albany Medical College in the USA. Before that she earned a BSc in Biochemical Engineering at East China University of Chemical Technology in Shanghai, China. She has published and presented several papers in the field of Immunotoxicology.
