Juliane has been working at ETH Zurich since 2012, where she first completed her doctorate studies in the group of Prof. Hungerbühler (Group for Safety and EnvironJuliane has been working at ETH Zurich since 2012, where she first completed her doctorate studies in the group of Prof. Hungerbühler (Group for Safety and Environmental Technology) and then continued her work in the group as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2019, Juliane joined the group of Environmental Chemistry at ETH Zürich, led by Prof. McNeill. 
During her time at ETH, Juliane has focused on persistent organic pollutants and their fate in the environment. Her latest project was about per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and their uses, including uses in the electronic industry.
Juliane holds a diploma in Biosystems engineering (University of Magdeburg, Germany) and a doctoral degree in Environmental Science (ETH Zürich).
