Mastering Food Contact Materials: A Practical Training Series

Theresa is a UK Registered Toxicologist. She provides toxicology expertise to regulatory and technical staff on client projects. As a toxicologist, she completes hazard and risk assessments for many products including food ingredients, food contact substances, chemicals, biocides and plant protection products.

Liu Hui has over seven years of professional experience in Food Contact Materials (FCM) regulatory compliance, specializing in ensuring the compliance of food contact materials and articles. With extensive expertise in compliance review, regulatory strategy development, new substance notifications in China, and Asia-Pacific regulatory research (covering China, South Korea, Japan and ASEAN markets), she provides comprehensive regulatory solutions to help clients navigate complex compliance requirements and achieve smooth market access.

Ms. Chiara Bandonision has work experiences in multinational companies (Food & Beverage, Packaging & Materials and Consultancy fields). She acquired transversal skills and knowledge in R&D and Innovation on the development of new products. Chiara has deep knowledge of development process from the concept to the launch to markets as well as ability to conduct global regulatory compliance assessments to ensure compliance of food contact materials.

Ms. Friederike Danneberg is providing regulatory and technical support on food contact materials, her main focus being on EU, Switzerland and Mercosur. In her work, she provides regulatory support and reviews product compositions to ensure compliance of food contact materials. For EU REACH, she provides regulatory support to manufacturers and importers of substances as well as for downstream users, including producers and importers of articles. Via knoell academy, she is a highly experienced trainer for EU REACH trainings.

Mr. Alastair Mak is a board certified toxicologist. He provides toxicology expertise to regulatory and technical staff on client projects. As a toxicologist, he completes hazard and risk assessments for many products including food ingredients, food contact substances, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Alastair has a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Univeristy of Toronto, where he specialized in immunotoxicology. He has an extensive background in food ingredient regulation and toxicology.

Cristina studied Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, Portugal. She worked for several years in regulatory affairs for industrial and consumer goods business, where she gained experience in the EU chemicals legislation (REACH, CLP, biocides, FCMs, electronics, …) and in chemical legislation for other regions such as Latin American countries. She recently joined knoell as a Project Manager for the Chemicals and Product Safety Regulatory Affairs.

Jochen has several years of experience in regulatory affairs, having worked in multinational companies in the food and ingredient sector. His responsibilities included the assessment of raw materials and finished products, the interpretation of European and international regulatory requirements, as well as the handling of food law-related inquiries, audits, and interactions with authorities.

Ms. Kumi Maehara is an experienced regulatory affairs professional with a demonstrated history of working in this business for nearly 10 years. Her knowledge in mainly focused in Japan legislation (CSCL, ISHA, PRTR, Food Contact Materials, Crop Protectionand etc.) and also in other regions and countties has been contributing to the business of many companies worldwide.

Ms. Tomoko Hagi has been working in regulatory affairs in various countries and is mainly familiar with Japanese regulations (CSCL, ISHA, PRTR, FCM, etc.). She studied chemistry and is responsible for supporting new substance applications in Japan.
