PFAS updates from the experts

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) have made headlines around the world over the past few years. The much-anticipated third conference in our PFAS series brings you the most up-to-date regulatory and scientific developments at global and regional level, the latest information on the availability of PFAS alternatives in different sectors, and practical case studies from many of the affected stakeholders to help you manage PFASs in your products and supply networks.

In 2021 alone, Chemical Watch tracked 139 bills seeking to ban or restrict the use of PFASs across the 50 US states. This represents more than a third of all proposed bills relating to chemical management or product stewardship in the country. At this virtual conference, expert speakers will give you overviews of state level bills and global regulatory developments, as well as the US EPA and European Commission’s work in this area.

Key stakeholders from the most important regulatory authorities, industry and academia will present and debate the latest PFAS testing and risk management strategies that will determine future definitions, PFAS groupings and which substances may be considered safe.

The conference will cover the availability of PFAS alternatives in many sectors, including food packaging, textiles, paints, coatings and varnishes, and firefighting foams. It will also discuss the successes and challenges of developing PFAS alternatives for other uses and sectors.

In our final session, a variety of stakeholders will provide practical case studies, such as PFASs in consumer products, a manufacturer’s and a major brand’s PFAS strategies, and an approach to chemical transparency that helps you pinpoint where PFASs are entering your supply chain.
