2019 conference highlights

The Future of REACH Authorisation was Chemical Watch’s first REACH-focused conference that focussed on streamlining and improving the efficiency of REACH authorisation.

This one-day conference took place on 18 March in Brussels, Belgium, and offered attendees the chance to hear the latest thoughts on streamlining the REACH authorisation system and to contribute their ideas on how to best achieve this important objective.

Expert speakers from leading organisations including Mayer Brown, the European Commission, Cefic, ClientEarth, and Ramboll shared their expertise on the topic, as well as providing essential advice on choosing the best strategy for substances produced or used that are affected by the authorisation process.

Topics covered across the inaugural conference included:

  • Overviews and possible future developments;
  • Substitutions as a risk management question; and,
  • Specific suggestions to improve the efficiency of risk management.
